Activity over the last month has been lower key, but with some important aspects. The Town Council has now costed the options for improving the facilities in the Old Showground, and these were reviewed with Town and District council officers on 27th March. Apart from one or two outstanding queries, it looks favourable that the most requested improvements are eligible and can be done within the money available. Councillor and Council consideration and approval should not now be far away.

There is a great deal currently happening in the town, through the activities of other town groups or the respective councils, especially the Town Council, that supports the Plan’s objectives. These include the generation of a Town Design Statement, a Frome Neighbourhood Plan, options for a remodeling of the town centre, development of the Cheese and Grain, and options and activities to improve the character of our river. V4F have been supporting the Frome Chamber of Commerce President in seeking to identify with Mendip District Council (MDC) what Section 106 agreements and money is outstanding as relate to Frome developments. One such is some £38K generated by the new medical Centre project, and we have sought to get the expenditure of this money on the nearby Old Showground underway.
